"I try to step into your shoes with my own heart and mind and see what answers we come up with together."

He has been a longtime investor in public equities and debt, in both individual companies and in public and private funds of many varieties. Leonard has successfully invested in and is highly familiar with residential real estate, farm and ranch, undeveloped land properties, and commercial real estate. He has been a successful investor in private early stage companies such as BabyCenter, the web’s top interactive parenting network now owned by Johnson & Johnson; NetSpend, a pioneering prepaid debit card company now owned by Western Union, and Taxa Outdoors, the leading maker of advanced mobile habitats, now owned by L Catterton. He is a current investor in BrainCheck, a medical diagnosis software maker; in Ambyint, an oil and gas technology concern; and in Noleus, a medical device company.

His family is a member of the Houston Zen Center and Congregation Shema Koleinu.  Leonard’s hobbies include guitar (he is a member of Houston’s Overcommitments), and private land restoration and conservation.

As a practicing Buddhist with a regular meditation practice since 2003, Leonard tries to bring compassion and wisdom to all beings everywhere, including, on a daily basis, in his advisory practice.
