As the Chief Investment Officer, Todd has primary responsibility for New Capital’s investment research, portfolio management, design and implementation of model portfolios, trading, investment reporting, fund company relationships and more. Todd joined New Capital July of 2017. His balanced investment style is grounded in a firm belief in market efficiency, asset class diversification and low-cost implementation.

Prior to joining New Capital, Todd spent four years at Salient Partners, L.P., a $13 billion wealth advisory and asset manager in Houston, as a Director of Outsourced CIO Solutions and Chief Investment Strategist. Todd also spent six years at the $145 billion Teacher Retirement System of Texas where he was a Senior Investment Manager responsible for the design, implementation and portfolio management of over $3 billion in hedge fund investments. He began his career at Fidelity Investments as a retail advisor.

He holds a BA degree from Clemson University, an MBA from Rice University, and is a CFA Charter holder.

Todd is originally from Duxbury, Massachusetts and moved to Houston in 2005, where he met his wife Vanessa, a native of Mexico City and a Spanish teacher. He enjoys golfing, traveling and playing ice hockey.
