Becoming a New Capital Client
Intro paragraph section
STEP 1
Discovery
Our first face-to-face meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know each other; for us to learn about your background, experience, needs, opportunities, challenges, and goals. You may expect this discussion between us to be comprehensive and thoughtful.
STEP 2
Financial Planning
In preparation for your Financial Planning meeting, we will ask that you provide us with specific data and documents. This information will be entered into our financial planning software, RightCapital.
During your meeting, we will work collaboratively to craft a financial plan that meets your goals and needs and also helps answer important questions such as how long you may need to work, how easily your goals can be achieved, and if there are any changes you may need to make.
STEP 3
Investments
In preparation for your Investments Meetings, we will enter your existing accounts into our portfolio analysis software. At the meeting, we will accomplish the following tasks:
Measure your risk tolerance using our state-of-the-art risk scoring software. Your risk score will help us better understand how to allocate your portfolio.
Review portfolio reports using our portfolio analysis software. These reports will give us deeper insight into your portfolio’s strengths and weaknesses.
Present Investments 101, an educational presentation about modern investment theory and management. This information will help you better understand the foundations of New Capital’s approach to investments.
STEP 4
Mutual Commitment
In the Mutual Commitment meeting, you will be signing up to be a New Capital client. We will go through the following documents in detail to make sure that you understand them and that your questions are answered.
Investment Management Agreement (IMA) - formal agreement between you and New Capital to enter into an advisor-client relationship.
Contingent Succession Agreement - gives authorization to transfer the management of your accounts to our contingency partner, Buckingham Strategic Wealth, in the event of a death or disabling of New Capital key personnel.
Account Opening Documents - custodial paperwork needed to open accounts, designate beneficiaries, enable checkwriting & debit/credit card privileges, and more.
Transfer of Assets Documents - initiates the transer of your assets from your current custodian to New Capital and its custodians.
STEP 5
Data & Technology
In this meeting we will demo custodial platforms, our portfolio management software, New Capital’s proprietary internal data and task management system, review suggested cybersecurity measures, and finalize any outstanding items.
Client Testimonials
Testimonials are from current clients of New Capital Management and not compensated for in any way.
STEP 6
Review
The Review is the last step of the New Capital Onboarding process. We will review the work have done so far, take a look at your first Quarterly Performance Reports, and ensure your satisfaction as a New Capital client. After this meeting, we will meet regularly for an Annual Review. Also, we are always available for any other meetings, video calls, or phone calls at your request.
Our work with the New Capital Team restored our ability to dream and look forward to our retirement years. Their knowledge, expertise, and guidance have been better than we could ever have hoped for.
