Financial Foundation Series

A personalized and collaborative process delivered across three meetings to help you move forward with clarity.

DISCOVERY

The Discovery meeting is the first step in your Financial Foundation Series. This is a thoughtful, open conversation focused entirely on you—your background, values, goals, and the challenges or opportunities you may be navigating. It’s a chance to reflect, be heard, and lay the foundation for a planning process that’s built around your life.

We take the time to understand not just your finances, but the personal context that shapes your decisions. Whether you’re feeling confident, overwhelmed, or just ready for a fresh start, this meeting is about building trust and clarity—together.

After this meeting, we’ll begin preparing for your Financial Planning session and will request supporting documents to help us build an accurate, personalized plan.

FINANCIAL PLANNING

The Financial Planning meeting is the second step in your Financial Foundation Series. In this collaborative session, you’ll work with our advisors (who hold the Certified Financial Planner™ and Chartered Financial Analyst certifications) to build a personalized plan that reflects your goals, values, and financial responsibilities.

We’ll use advanced planning software to help assess your current path, explore potential scenarios, and calculate the probability of reaching your long-term goals. Along the way, we’ll identify key risks and opportunities, clarify your options, and begin shaping a plan you can feel confident about.

This meeting is designed to bring structure, insight, and momentum to your financial life—so you can make informed decisions with greater clarity.

INVESTMENTS

The Investments meeting is the third step in your Financial Foundation Series. In this session, we introduce the core principles of New Capital’s investment philosophy through a brief educational presentation: Investments 101.

This overview offers a clear explanation of modern investment theory, portfolio construction, and how we approach managing assets with care, discipline, and long-term perspective. It’s designed to help you better understand how we think about investing—and how that thinking might apply to your financial future.

We’ll also talk through Next Steps, giving you the space and information you need to decide whether an ongoing advisory relationship with New Capital is the right fit for you.

Before you arrive…

We’re already thinking about what matters to you - and how a financial partnership can help you live more intentionally.

This short video will introduce how we work, what we value, and how we can support you in a changing world.

Note:

This video was filmed in 2019, and while a lot has changed since then, the heart of our firm hasn’t.

We’ve all aged a bit, Leonard’s grown a beard, Jaycee got married, moved a few times, and is now our Vice President and Catherine is a mom. We’ve also added some fantastic new faces, Casey and Deysi, and upgraded to a beautiful new office.

What hasn’t changed is our commitment to our clients and our dedication to thoughtful, personal, values-driven advice.

We hope you enjoy this glimpse into who we are, then and now.

We look forward to meeting you and to your Arrival at New Capital.

We approach every client relationship with care, curiosity, and respect for your individuality. But we’re not a one-size-fits-all firm - and we think that’s a good thing.

We do our best work for clients who:

Want a long-term advisory relationship built on trust, transparency, and shared values.

Have investable assets around $1 million or more and want a plan tailored to your life.

Are navigating meaningful life transitions—such as retirement, inheritance, or career change.

Value expert guidance on not just investments, but also tax, estate, charitable, and much more.

Are looking for a financial advisor who is attuned to today’s changing political, economic, and social environment.

If this sounds like you, we invite you to start with a conversation. It’s complimentary, confidential, and entirely focused on you.
